The President has also personally received grievances.
During the press briefing on Wednesday, April 30, Palace Press Officer, Usec. Claire Castro, shared the administration’s response on the issue concerning water utility provider PrimeWater.
“Ang pangangailangan po ng tao sa malinis na tubig, sapat na supply ng tubig, ay… nararapat at hindi pang-negosyo lamang,” Castro underscored the customers’ right to safe and potable water.
During which, she confirmed that Presidnet Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. will be ordering a probe into this matter, which primarily concerns residents of towns in Bulacan province.
This news also comes two days after the San Jose Del Monte City Water District Board of Directors moved to pre-terminate their contract with PrimeWater due to its inability to fulfill its contract.
PrimeWater is a company under Prime Assets Ventures, Inc. (PAVI), an entity under the larger Villar Group, owned by the influential family led by former Senator Manny Villar.
The water utility provider has the franchise to supply water 500,000 households in more than 100 districts around the country.
PrimeWater has yet to issue their official statement on the Usec. Castro’s pronouncement.
