From ‘resbaker’ to a ‘champion’ after the month-long contest.
On Saturday, April 26, ABS-CBN noontime variety program ‘It’s Showtime’ held the grand finals for its ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan All-Star Grand Resbak 2025’ competition.
Vying for the chance to become the next ‘TNT’ champion are six singers, Ayegee Paredes, Ian Manibale, Raven Heyres, Rachel Gabreza, Charrize Arnigo, and Marko Rudio.
After the first round, where they performed Power Ballad Songs, Ayegee, Raven, and Rachel bade farewell to the competition.
The remaining three contenders moved on to the next round, where they sang medlies of their chosen artists.
In another twist to the finale, public voting also returned to the format, with viewers able to cast their votes via ABS-CBN’s JoinNow platform.
Charizze did her rendition of Moira dela Torre’s hits ‘Babalik Sa’yo,’ ‘Kumpas,’ and ‘Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw (originally performed with December Avenue)‘. She finished in third place with a score of 89.55%.
Ian, meanwhile, did Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Bruises,’ ‘Before You Go,’ and ‘Someone You Loved,’ which enabled him to rank second place after garnering 92.8%.
Champion Marko Rudio was able to showcase his version of ‘P-pop Kings’ SB19’s famous songs ‘Mapa,’ ‘Gento,’ and ‘DAM,’ earning 96.15% after the grueling final round.
Coincidentally, SB19 also performed their new single ‘Dungka!‘ during the program, with members Stell and Pablo also part of the jury as special guest hurados.
After the special ‘All-Star Grand Resbak 2025‘ season, ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan‘ is set to return to its regular format for its ninth season beginning Monday, April 28.
