This the latest in the Filipina content creator’s slate of new international nods in recent weeks.
Filipina content creator Abi Marquez, dubbed as the Internet’s ‘Lumpia Queen,’ has secured her first-ever nomination at the 17th Annual Shorty Awards.
The young personality landed herself a spot in the “TikTok Presence” category, where she is up against major players like Sony Pictures’ ‘Venom: The Last Dance‘ TikTok Takeover, MTV’s ‘The Chi‘ and ‘Tulsa King,’ Nickelodeon’s “SpongeBob 25th” celebration, and more.
Abi, in recent years, has built a massive TikTok community, boasting a 4.4 million follower count and over 117.8 million likes for her expansive video library.
There, she entertains and educates viewers by serving up Filipino food content and diving into international cuisines with her playful and flavorful energy.
The content creator shares, “Being recognized by the Shorty Awards is such an honor—not just for me, but for the whole Filipino food community on TikTok.”
Abi adds, “It motivates me even more to keep pushing Filipino cuisine onto the global stage and turn the food space into one big collaboration zone. This nomination is a reminder of how powerful our stories can be, especially when told through food.”
The Shorty Awards celebrate the best creators and campaigns in social and digital, with past winners include stalwarts like Pixar, Jay Shetty, Al Jazeera Digital, and Google.
The 17th Annual Shorty Awards also marks Abi’s third international nomination this year, following recent nods at the 29th Annual Webby Awards and the 45th Annual Telly Awards, further solidifying her status as one of the Philippines’ leading digital creatives.

Winners of the 17th Annual Shorty Awards will be announced in May 2025.
