Enhancing connectivity between Manila and Doha.
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Qatar Airways (QR) announced on Thursday, April 24, that they have entered into a strategic partnership that will see better connectivity between the countries’ capital cities of Manila and Doha.
Starting June 16, 2025, PAL will offer daily nonstop flights to and from both cities, with QR codesharing on the seven weekly flights operated by the Filipino airliner in the first phase of this strategic cooperation.
The daily flights will depart Manila at 6:50 pm and arrive in Doha at 11:40 pm (local time).
This also allows better transit connection through Qatar for travellers who seek to head towards any of the 170 destinations located in other regions of the world using the Middle Eastern hub.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their families will also greatly benefit from this new partnership.”
Passengers will also get to enjoy the luxury and comfort of Hamad International Airport (DOH), which has been ranked as the World’s 2nd Best Airport, as well as the leading position in the Middle East, as voted by Skytrax in 2025.
Eastbound travelers arriving in Doha on Qatar Airways flights can connect smoothly onto Philippine Airlines flights that depart daily from Doha at 1:30 am and arrive at Manila at 4:15 pm.
Fleet-wise, the daily nonstop flights will be operated on Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A330-300 aircraft in a dual-class configuration, featuring 18 flat-bed seats in an exclusive Business Class cabin and 341 seats in the main Economy Class cabin.
“As Philippine Airlines expands its presence across the globe, we are delighted to forge new alliances that build new connections and give our business and leisure passengers more flexibility and seamless access in flying to their desired destinations,” said Philippine Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Stanley K. Ng.
Ng also noted that the move, enabled by their partnership with Qatar, “will help us [PAL] stimulate tourism, trade flows and business growth in the context of the strong bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Qatar.”
Meanwhile, Tierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer for Qatar Airways, shared that “[t]his strategic cooperation also aims to deepen the socio-economic ties between the Qatari and Filipino communities.”
Antinori furthered that the codeshare is also in line with the Doha-based airliner’s commitment to strengthening its connectivity around the world.
“We are proud of the new codeshare flights and look forward to delivering increased benefits to global travelers.”
In addition to the newly-formed pact, the partner airlines will explore further opportunities for long-term collaboration, including teamwork to promote additional destinations in the respective networks of Qatar Airways and Philippine Airlines and the cooperation of its frequent flyer programs.
