Heads up for motorists heading north through the major toll road.
In its latest advisory as of 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, the NLEX Corporation, operator of the Northe Luzon Expressway, gave updates regarding the progress of its repair works at the Marilao Interchange Bridge.
The said section was damaged structurally by a truck, which went above the approved vertical clearance of 4.27 meters to cross under the said bridge.
According to NLEX, it has “completed the installation of vertical steel support on sections beneath the bridge, which impacted lanes 2 and 3 (the middle lanes)…“
To help reduce congestion in the northbound direction, it said, they have opened an additional lane this evening, which incresed the usable lanes to three.
Adding to that is a zipper lane in the southbound lane, which can be opened when conditions allow.
“We expect the necessary repairs to be completed within two weeks. Rest assired thatbwe are committed to expediting repairs and restoring normal traffic flow as quickly as possible,” NLEX wrote.
Meanwhile, they have also since published alternative routes on their social media pages, and deployed traffic patrol and marshals to guide and assist motorists.
