This will mark the end of the Ramadan period.

In Proclamation No. 839 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the Malacañang Palace declared Tuesday, April 1, 2025 as a regular holiday throught the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Fitr.

The said memo follows the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) to make either March 31 or the said date as a national holiday.

It also follows the Republic Act 9177 — which amended the Section 26, Chapter 7, Book I of Executive Order 292 — that effectively states the occasion of Eid’l Fitr as a regular holiday nationwide.

According to the Palace, this was done “in order to bring religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, and to allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr.

Apart from Eid’l Fitr, there are three other holidays in the coming month, including the Araw Ng Kagitingan (or Day of Valor) on April 9, and Maundy Thursday and Good Friday on April 17 and 18.
