The Holy Father’s health continues to show improvement.
In its bulletin on Tuesday evening, March 18 (local time), the Holy See Press Office disclosed the latest update on Pope Francis’ health.
It said, “Last night, the Pope did not require mechanical ventilation and instead relied on high-flow oxygen.”
Although, the Press Office noted, “[while] this is a positive development, it should be viewed with caution as part of a gradual reduction process.”
It was also shared that he spent his Tuesday undergoing treatments, praying, and light work.
This latest update came two days after the Vatican uploaded on Sunday, March 16, the Pope’s first photograph since his confinement over a month ago.
Pope Francis was brought to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital in February due to bronchitis, which was later diagnosed as bilateral pneumonia.
Recently, he celebrated the 12th anniversary of his papal election, where the hospital staff gave him a cake with candles to mark the occasion.
