In celebration of the International Women’s Month this March.
In a social media post, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) shared that the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will offer free rides for female commuters.
As per the advisory, the PCG’s ‘Libreng Sakay’ program will run every Tuesday, specifically on March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2025.
The rides will be available at 6:00 am and 5:00 pm on those days, with the service ferrying passengers from PITX to the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City, then Cubao Terminal in Quezon City and vice versa.
Furthermore, those who will seek to avail pf the free ride shall head to PITX’s Gate 10, Bay 5.
Aside from buses, jeepneys, and taxis, the Parañaque inter-modal terminal also has direct linkage to the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) via the AsiaWorld-PITX station that opened last November.
Meanwhile, in his speech during the National Women’s Month Celebration on Monday, March 3, PCG Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG, shared the following.
“The celebration of the National Women’s Month is a call to recognize and support every woman’s personal and professional journey. It’s about creating a space where women can define their own paths, pursue their passions, and contribute meaningfully to society.”
He continued, “Let us commit to ensuring that every woman whether in a leadership role, or at the grassroots level has access to opportunities for growth, advancement, and success. Now more than ever, it is our responsibility to be advocates of equality, ensuring that women from all walks of life have the support, the respect, and the freedom to thrive.”
