The top-rating teleserye of the country has capped the record-breaking week with another major achievement.

The top-rating teleserye of the country has capped the record-breaking week with another major achievement.

On Friday, February 21, the long-running ABS-CBN primetime action series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ gripped viewers with a pivotal scene in the series.

Audiences tuned in to see the fate of David (McCoy de Leon) as Ramon (Christopher de Leon) gets a hold of him during their clash and the latter attempts to take the former’s life for pretending as Tanggol.

Spoiler alert: David’s dad, Rigor (John Estrada) was able to foil the plot as he went through the alleyway where the slay was supposed to unfold.

Moments later, the paths of Ramon and the real Tanggol (Coco Martin) crossed anew, which led to an altercation as the son only knew his biological father by his alias, Albert, who was the husband of Martin’s character’s deceased lover, Mokang (Lovi Poe).

Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) was able to arrive at the scene on time and broke the news that they are blood-linked.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Tanggol and Ramon become wanted by the police, while the next few episodes will see Marites put to jail by her own husband, Rigor, for helping the two escape.

The major revelation helped propel ‘Batang Quiapo’ to the million live views club, as the February 21st episode soared to the series to its new all-time high concurrent viewership on Kapamilya Online Live, with 1,004,554 tuning in to watch the climax of the show.

Aside from setting the new record for ‘Batang Quiapo,’ the episode is also now the most-viewed of any Kapamilya teleserye that streamed on the web-based channel since its launch in August 2020.

It is also the second in terms of overall viewership on the said platform, only trailing behind the Big Night of ‘Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11’ in October 2024, which posted 2.2 million peak concurrent views.

Moreover, this ends the week-long streak of the Coco Martin-led show, which reached over 800,000 live views for three consecutive nights from Tuesday, February 18 to Thursday, February 20.
