The date is set for the “most beautiful day in the universe” this year.
In an announcement video released on Sunday, February 9, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) revealed more details about its upcoming 74th edition.
According to the MUO, the much-anticipated coronation event will happen in the ‘Land of Smiles,’ Thailand on the morning of November 21 (evening of November 20 in the United States).
The grand finale for the pageant this year is scheduled to happen at the Impact Muang Thong Thani Arena in Bangkok, which also served as the venue of the 2018 edition.
The upcoming 74th edition will mark the Thailand’s fourth time hosting the pageant, with the other two not yet mentioned being the 1992 and 2005 competitions.
The latest edition held in Bangkok back in December 2018 was historic for the Philippines, as our very own Catriona Gray won the coveted Miss Universe crown, thereby becoming the fourth Filipina to do so.
Apart from Thailand, also shortlisted as possible venues for MU 2025 were the Philippines, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain, South Africa, and Nigeria.
Miss Universe held its most-recent pageant in Mexico City last November 2024, where it crowned Victoria Kjaer Theilvig from Denmark as its first queen from the said European country.
Meanwhile, Filipina bet Chelsea Manalo was later named as the first Miss Universe Asia after the competition.
