The upcoming drama is an adaptation of a Japanese television series.
On Monday, October 28, ABS-CBN Studios announced that its new offering ‘Saving Grace,’ starring Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta, will begin streaming on Prime Video next month.
The Filipino adaptation of the popular Japanese drama ‘Mother’ will be seen via the streaming platform from Thursday, November 28, 2024.
This development makes ‘Saving Grace’ the fourth ABS-CBN production to premiere first or exclusively on the platform, following ‘Cattleya Killer,’ ‘Fit Check: Confessions Of An Ukay Queen,’ and ‘Linlang.’
The new series will also mark the small-screen comeback and reunion of both Julia Montes and Sharon Cuneta after their respective stints as Mara and Aurora in the longest-running primetime action drama ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ in 2021.
Joining them in the cast are new child star Zia Grace, Sam Milby, Janice de Belen, Jennica Garcia, Christian Bables, Eric Fructoso, and Elisse Joson, among many others.
The drama will be directed by FM Reyes and Dolly Dulu.
‘Saving Grace’ is the local adaptation of ‘Mother,’ which was first broadcast by Nippon TV in Japan in April 2010 and starred Yasuko Mastuyuki.
Since then, it has been localized in nine (9) other countries, including South Korea, China, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, France, and Spain.
Aside from Prime Video, it is expected to be aired on primetime via ABS-CBN platforms sometime in 2025.
