Months after publicly confirming their romantic relationship, the couple will be entering a new chapter in their lives.
On Thursday, October 24, actor Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat held a press conference in Thailand to promote his new single titled ‘Absence.’
During the said event, he called onto the stage his real-life partner and fellow Thai celebrity Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai and shared the inspiration behind the new song.
Mew said that he intended it to be something that he would be using for his proposal, before stunning everyone in the room as he knelt in front of his boyfriend and pulled out a jewelry box carrying a ring.
Tul, in return, also knelt in front of his other half to “propose back,” and quipped that they have not yet informed their parents of what was happening.
On Instagram, Mew proudly shared to his more than 6 million followers a photo of them kissing after Tul said yes to the proposal.
At present, the post has garnered more than 6 million likes on the platform.
Mew began his career as model before landing his breakthrough role as Pree in the boys love (BL) drama ‘What The Duck’ in 2018.
He went on to become the lead star in the 2020 BL series ‘TharnType,’ where he starred opposite Gulf Kanawut.
Tul, meanwhile, had also started out as a model before transitioning into an actor. He has starred in serials like ‘Together With Me’ and its spinoff series, and ‘Manner of Death,’ where he was also paired with Max Nattapol Diloknawarit.
In an appearance on a Thai program called ‘My Ambulove’ on GoyNattyDream YouTube channel in July, the actors publicly confirmed their romantic relationship for the first time.
Their engagement also comes a month after the news of Thailand becoming the first Southeast Asian nation to legalize same-sex marriage, with the first weddings in the kingdom set to occur in early 2025.
Congratulations, Mew and Tul!
