It will be the first-ever movie topbilled by the two.
On Wednesday, March 11, Regal Entertainment and Project 8 Projects released the official teaser trailer of the upcoming movie Almost Us, which is top-billed by Kapamilya love team Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra, collectively known as JMFyang.
In the nearly 90-second-long clip, viewers and fans get a glimpse of the dynamics between the characters of the two breakout stars from Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11.
According to the description provided by the studio, it dares to post the question: “Why do we sometimes reach for the distant when the one who loves us most is right here?“
It is also described as a “story of modern love shaped by fandom, social media, and the fear of losing someone you hold dear.”
“Sometimes the greatest love story is… the one you may have just missed,” the movie’s tagline read.
Almost Us marks the return of director Dan Villegas, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Angel Tomas, to the romantic-comedy genre.
It will also star Yuki Takahashi, Sam Samarita, JM Salvado, Baus Rufo, Che Ramos, and Lotlot Bustamante.
Almost Us will be the first starring role of the duo, also known as JMFyang, in a big screen project. Although, they were part of the cast of the latest installment of the horror movie Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins, which screened at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.
Prior to these, they have also showcased their potential in acting through the digital drama series Ghosting, which streamed as a banner show of ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant from July to December 2025.
Fyang and JM joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 in 2024, where the film’s leading lady emerged as the big winner of the said batch.
