The Kapuso news and public affairs show has aired its final edition.
On Friday, October 25, GTV’s afternoon news magazine program ‘Dapat Alam Mo!’ aired a special edition as it carried portions of the hours-long GMA Telethon ‘Operation Bayanihan’ for the victims of severe tropical storm Kristine.
Aside from that, anchors Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez also delivered updates on the devastation left behind by the powerful cyclone.
However, the show ended its episode with a special message of thanks from Atienza and Enriquez.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa araw-araw ninyong pakikibahagi sa amin sa loob ng mahigit na tatlong taong puno ng saya at mahalagang impormasyon,” Kuya Kim told viewers.
Susan continued, “[nawa’y] naging makabuluhan ang ating mga balitaan at kwentuhan at may napulot kayong mga bagong kaalaman.”
“Hanggang sa muli, dahil wagi ang may alam,” Atienza said before being joined by Enriquez in saying the program’s title together for the final time.
Coincidentally, the last episode of ‘Dapat Alam Mo!’ fell exactly a week after it celebrated its third anniversary on the air.
The newsmagazine program launched on October 18, 2021 to serve as the pre-program to the simulcast of GMA’s flagship newscast “24 Oras” on GTV.
It was originally fronted by the trio of Emil Sumangil, Kuya Kim Atienza, and Patricia Tumulak, and dished out the usual news stories with various featurettes and trivias.
In February 2022 and July 2023, ‘Dapat Alam Mo!’ was simulcasted over GMA-7 as a filler during programming shake-ups in the main channel’s early evening block.
In 2023, the show saw the departure of Sumangil and Tumulak on separate dates as they moved onto other programs, with the former notably taking over the main anchor spot at “24 Oras.”
Susan Enriquez — who concurrently hosts morning show ‘Unang Hirit,’ public affairs shows ‘Pera Paraan’ and ‘iJuander,’ and DZBB — was then tapped to be the co-host of Kuya Kim Atienza in ‘Dapat Alam Mo!’
With the end of ‘DAM,’ GTV is set to replace it on its afternoon slot with the new lifestyle talk show ‘Lutong Bahay’ hosted by Kapuso star Mikee Quintos.
The new program is slated to make its premiere on Monday, October 28, at 5:45 pm.
