Recently, Korean performer-songwriter Jinyoung Park, popularly known as J.Y. Park or simply JYP, held the ‘Ddanddara JYP’ special that was telecasted over KBS.

Present during the event are the many stars of his agency, JYP Entertainment, like g.o.d., 2PM, and Twice.

Reunited on-stage for the first time in years is the legendary second generation K-pop girl group, Wonder Girls, composed of original leader Sunye, Yubin, and Sunmi.

They performed three of the group’s biggest hits, namely ‘Tell Me,’ ‘So Hot,’ and ‘Nobody,’ where the public were also able to hear the iconic “JYP and the Wonder Girls, we’re back” signature introduction.

Apart from that, Sunmi also took the stage with J.Y. Park for the latest live production of their 2020 collaboration single, ‘When We Disco.’

On Instagram, Sunye described their reunion as “indescribable” and shared some photos of them together in one frame.

Wonder Girls made their debut in 2007 with their first single ‘Irony.’

The five-piece group, already composed of members Sunye, Yeeun, Yubin, Sunmi, and Sohee around that time, went on to become a representative group of the Hallyu wave in the late 2000s when they took not only South Korea, but the rest of the world, by storm with their consecutive popular songs ‘Tell Me,’ ‘So Hot,’ and ‘Nobody.’

In 2009, the K-pop group joined Jonas Brothers’ world tour and performed as an opening act for the American band.

In 2010, Hyerim joined the team when Sunmi momentarily left the team to pursue her studies, and later, launch her solo career.

After a two-year-hiatus following the respective departures of Sunye and Sohee, Wonder Girls regrouped in 2015 as a four-member band consisting of Yeeun, Yubin, Sunmi, and Hyerim.

After dropping ‘I Feel You’ in 2015 and ‘Why So Lonely’ in 2016, the group was officially disbanded in 2017 after releasing their final song ‘Draw Me.’
