The popular Kapamilya noontime program is now available in high definition on free-to-air television.
On Monday, June 17, ALLTV viewers were greeted with a surprise as ABS-CBN Studios noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’ began airing on the channel.
The ALLTV simulcast adds further to the wider reach that ‘It’s Showtime’ currently has ever since it became available on the main GMA channel last April 6.
This is also on top of its availability on GTV, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and on Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC on digital.
‘It’s Showtime’ on ALLTV also marks the return of the show to its original home on channel 2, which used to the frequency assigned to ABS-CBN until it was directed to shut down by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in May 2020 after its 1995 franchise expired.
Additionally, it also now airs on high definition quality on free-to-air television through ALLTV.
Neither ABS-CBN, nor ALLTV have released an official statement regarding the simulcast, however it has been previously been reported in this publication.
Last March, news first broke that Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS) — the parent firm of ALLTV — and ABS-CBN were in talks to carry select programming from the Kapamilya network, including the country’s longest-running Filipino-language newscast ‘TV Patrol’ and the noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’ on the channel.
‘TV Patrol,’ as well as blocks of ABS-CBN’s pay TV retro channel Jeepney TV, began airing on the ALLTV last April 15.
That later expanded to the ‘All Time Saya’ primetime block of the channel, which made its debut on May 13, 2024.
With the latest development, ‘It’s Showtime’ becomes the third anchor program of ABS-CBN to join ALLTV’s programming line-up, with the first two being ‘TV Patrol’ and the morning talk show ‘Magandang Buhay’.
‘It’s Showtime’ airs from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 noon on Kapamilya Channel, GMA, GTV, A2Z, ALLTV, Kapamilya Online Live, Kapuso Stream, iWantTFC, and via The Filipino Channel (TFC) and GMA Pinoy TV for ‘madlang people’ subscribers abroad.
