The ‘Pambansang Dyosa’ has become the ‘Dyosa ng OFWs.’
On Saturday, February 24, ABS-CBN noontime variety program ‘It’s Showtime’ began with a production number from host Anne Curtis as she belatedly celebrates her 39th birthday on the show.
Anne marked her special day with a ‘The Eras’ tour-like performance, where she sang some of Taylor Swift’s hit songs like ‘Ready For It,’ ‘Cruel Summer,’ ‘Bejeweled,’ ‘Enchanted,’ and ‘Shake It Off.’
Prior to the nunber, a reel highlighting some of Curtis’ unforgettable moments on ‘Showtime’ was played, including her legendary “sinaag,” “capsicum,” “pancit with lots of cheese” clips, among others.
After the performance, Anne gave out appliances and mobile phones to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and other audiences inside the studio.
Aside from the prizes, Anne’s sister Jasmine Curtis also returned to ‘Showtime’ on Saturday to personally greet her “sestra.”
In the same segment, Anne was also jokingly given a special moniker as ‘Dyosa ng mga OFWs,’ paying homage to the viral clip from ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ six years ago.
Anne’s actual 39th birthday happened last Saturday, February 17.
However, she was out of the country to witness the Melbourne stop of Taylor Swift ‘The Eras’ tour live.
Hence, her birthday celebration on ‘Showtime’ was scheduled cor today instead.
