In recent promotional plugs broadcast over GMA, the Kapuso network announced that they are producing the upcoming sixth local season of ‘The Voice Kids’.

Words in the short teaser read: “The grandest stage is now set for young voices. Get ready for… The Voice Kids,” before the logo of the program was unveiled.

At the moment, GMA has not yet revealed the audition dates, coaches, host, and the premiere date of the show.

A spin-off of the popular ‘The Voice’ franchise, ‘TVK’ was first aired in the Philippines via GMA’s former archrival network ABS-CBN back in 2014.

During its first season that year, it saw Lyca Gairanod defeat fellow finalists Darren Espanto, JK Labajo, and Darlene Vibares.

Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo Mañalac served as the program’s original set of coaches.

Due its success, ABS-CBN continued the production of the program, and created subsequent seasons in 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2023.

The judges panel remained the same for seasons 2 and 4, with Sharon Cuneta taking Sarah’s seat for season 3.

During its final season on ABS-CBN last year, Bamboo, Martin Nievera, and KZ Tandingan were tapped as coaches.

Joining them as hosts were Bianca Gonzales and Robi Domingo.

That same group was kept by the Kapamilya network for the ongoing third season of another ‘Voice’ spin-off series, ‘The Voice Teens,’ which airs every weekend on ABS-CBN platforms and TV5.

In the process, GMA also became the first Asian network to localized the ‘Generations’ franchise.

By the end of the competition, Cagayan de Oro-based musical group VocalMyx was named as first champions of ‘The Voice Generations’ in the Philippines.

During the ‘Kapuso Countdown to 2024,’ GMA Network formally announced that they have secured the rights for the regular edition of ‘The Voice of the Philippines,’ which aired for two season on ABS-CBN in 2014 and 2015, and ‘The Voice Kids.’

It remains to be seen whether GMA will also bag ‘The Voice Teens’ after it ends its third season with ABS-CBN.

Season 6 of ‘The Voice Kids’ is slated to premiere this 2024 on GMA.
