FIBA World Cup 2023: Game schedules for first round of Group Phase

The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup kicks off today.

Today, basketball fans all over the world will have their eyes on the latest developments out of Manila, Okinawa, and Jakarta, as the action begins on FIBA World Cup 2023.

To stay in the loop, here are the games that will take place across the three hosts countries in the first round of the Group Phase. This round will determine who will enter the second round (classification), quarterfinals, semi-finals, and the Finals round.

The team that will win the world cup this year will bring home the Naismith Trophy, named after the Canadian-American inventor of basketball.

Gilas Pilipinas matches

Too long, didn’t read, but want to know when and where Gilas Pilipinas games will happen? Here is a quick rundown.

Gilas will take on the Dominican Republic at 8:00 pm on August 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan (Manila).

They will then face off with Angola on Sunday, August 27 at 8:00 pm at the Araneta Coliseum.

On August 29, Tuesday, they will be going against Italy in a match that will be held at the Araneta Coliseum starting at 8:00 pm.

Philippine broadcast

Games of the 2023 FIBA World Cup will be aired in the Philippines via Cignal TV platforms, pay TV channel One Sports+. On free-to-air television, One Sports will air live matches, while TV5, PTV, and IBC will air games on a delayed basis (PTV and IBC will only broadcast Gilas matches).

Pilipinas Live, Smart Livestream, and Cignal Play will be the official OTT (over-the-top) platforms in the Philippines for the games.
