‘Egay’ intensifies as it makes its way to northeastern Luzon
According to the 11:00 pm bulletin of PAGASA on Monday, Typhoon Egay “steadily intensifies” as it makes its move in the north northwestward direction. Based on their observation, its eye was last seen at 425 km East of Baler, Aurora or 365 km East of Casiguran, Aurora.
‘Egay’ packs speeds of up to 165 kilometers per hour and gustiness reaching 205 kilometers per hour. It also moves at a pace of 15 kilometers per hour.

President Marcos, Jr. holds second State of the Nation Address
Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos today addressed the nation from the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City. In his speech, Marcos laid all his administration’s plans for the forthcoming years, and in the near and medium-terms. He also listed legislations that he would like the both houses of Congress to work on and pass. His entire speech lasted for more than an hour.

Transport group suspends strike due to Typhoon
In an announcement this evening, transport group Manibela said that it is suspending the three-day strike it started on Monday. The group cited Typhoon Egay as a reason for the postponement of their plans.
One day left before SIM Registration deadline
The registration exercise for those using SIMs purchased prior to the enactment of the act will end tomorrow, July 25. No more extensions, as per PH government and telecommunications companies. Meanwhile, for those who have just purchased a new SIM cards, users are given within 30 days of their purchase to register the SIM.

Anne Curtis to star in new GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs film ‘Version 2’
Anne Curtis will star in the upcoming film ‘Version 2′ of GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs. This is according to the film unit’s SVP and FVP for PA Nessa Valdellon in the caption of her photo with Curtis taken during the recent GMA Gala. Curtis’ last movie project with GMA’s film unit was ‘In Your Eyes,’ which was a co-production with Viva Films, and was released in 2010.
Anne Curtis is seen Monday to Saturday on the Kapuso channel GTV, where her noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ has been airing since July 1st.
Bianca Umali named lead star in ‘Encantadia’ spin-off
Bianca Umali will lead the Encantadia spin-off series ‘Sang’gre’. This is based on the concept art released for the telefantasya at the San Diego Comic-Con 2023. She has been casted to portray the daughter of Sang’gre Danaya — one of the original four sisters in the main series. ‘Sang’gre’ is set to air in 2024 on GMA.
‘Encantadia’ is a popular fantasy series in the Philippines which first aired in 2005, and was starred by Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, Daiana Zubiri, and Karylle. It later received a re-quel or a retelling-sequel in 2016 — which was re-aired during the lockdowns in 2020 and proved to be a massive hit then — with new gen Sang’gres in Kylie Padilla, Glaiza de Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia.

HORI7ON makes their debut in South Korea
On Monday, all-Filipino male pop group HORI7ON made their debut in South Korea. This, as the group’s first album ‘Friend-SHIP’ was released, alongside the official music video for their song ‘SIX7EEN’.
The seven-piece group is composed of members Vinci, Kim, Kyler, Reyster, Winston, Jeromy, and Marcus. They were formed through the Philippine survival show ‘Dream Maker’. They are co-managed by Filipino media giant ABS-CBN and Korean music label MLD Entertainment.
