Instagram to launch ‘Threads’ app on July 6

The app will be launched in a few days’ time.

Meta, through its Instagram platform, is preparing to launch its direct answer to Twitter. Named ‘Threads,’ it will go online this Thursday, July 6 in the App Store (United States).

According to information circulating at the moment, ‘Threads’ is going to be a standalone app. Although, users can easily link their existing Instagram accounts to the app. Additional perk would be that they will be able to keep their usernames and even their Circles. Hence, there will no longer be a need for users to build their base again on the new platform.

The launch of ‘Threads’ comes days after Twitter’s recent issues concerning its tweet view limits sparked outrage on social media. Currently, there is still no information as to when the “temporary limits” on Twitter will be lifted.
