‘Juan major issue for all’: Eat Bulaga reportedly facing an internal crisis

The crisis is said to be triggered by the removal of a top figure in the program.

Remember the ‘Juan For All, All For Juan’ sub-segment ‘Problem Solving’ on noontime show Eat Bulaga? Perhaps, that title is apt for them to do over what is being reported about the program.

In recent days, several publications circulated the news that the Philippines’ longest-running noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ is facing a major trouble behind-the-scenes. This, as Antonio P. Tuviera, known by his nickname Mr. T, is reportedly being eased out of the program that he had produced since its inception in 1979.

The person behind the plot remained unnamed for a few days, until Bilyonaryo and Philstar reported on Friday that it is no other than Romeo Jalosjos, Tuviera’s partner in Television and Production Exponents, Inc., the company that makes Eat Bulaga, among other shows in the past. In her radio show yesterday, Cristy Fermin revealed that the debacle has been brewing even before the COVID-19 pandemic happened, but did not specify when it exactly began.

This takeover bid goes beyond just removing Tuviera from being at the helm of the show’s production. On-screen, most of the show’s current hosts being removed, with the exception of (based on reports) Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Allan K. The TVJ triumvirate of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, are not keen to still be part of the program and are said to be joining Tuviera, should the takeover happen.

According to latest reports online, TVJ had begun meeting several of their fellow cast members and are looking to incorporate them in a tentative show, that will be made should they leave EB, named ‘Dabarkads’.

Should they leave the program, Bilyonaryo broke the news that the Jalosjos group is pulling the strings to bring TV host Willie Revillame back into the noontime arena. Revillame, who signed with ALLTV in 2022, has his show ‘Wowowin’ placed on hiatus due to the network’s own set of programming woes at the moment.

To date, no formal announcement or statement has been made by TAPE, or any of the parties mentioned.

For now, Eat Bulaga will continue airing as usual on its noontime slot on GMA, with its current roster of hosts.
