On November 10, 2020, Dispatch broke the news that idols Kang Daniel and Jihyo of TWICE have broken up recently. According to their sources, the ex-lovers “naturally drifted apart” after not being able to meet quite as often due to their busy schedules. The article continued by stating that the circumstance ultimately led to their decision to end their relationship.
Right after the news started circulating online, JYP Entertainment, Jihyo’s parent label, immediately released a statement that read “[w]e are still checking with our artist.” They later re-issued a new one confirming the news stating “[i]t’s true that they have broken up recently.” Kang Daniel’s KONNECT is yet to give their side regarding the said matter.
Coincidentally, the couple’s relationship was also revealed to the public by Dispatch by a series of photos. Daniel and Jihyo’s later confirmed the news through their respective agencies in August 2019.
