Building on more than six decades of supporting Philippine agriculture.
At its recent launch event in Muntinlupa City, which was themed “Breaking Ground: The Power to Build More,” Kubota Philippines, Inc. (KPI) signaled the start of a new chapter in its history by expanding its machinery expertise and customer support experience to the construction equipment sector.
KPI officially entered the Philippine construction equipment market with the launch of its U30-6S and U55-6S mini excavators—marking its shift beyond agricultural machinery—aimed at supporting the country’s growing infrastructure and construction needs.
The new lineup looks to respond to the growing demand for compact, efficient, and reliable machinery for infrastructure, urban construction, and community development projects.
“For many years, Kubota Philippines has worked alongside Filipino farmers, dealers, and communities to support agricultural productivity and rural development. Our entry into construction equipment represents a new chapter in how we contribute to the country’s progress,” said Yoshito Kato, President and General Manager of KPI. +
Kubota’s U30-6S and U55-6S mini excavators were built to maximize productivity and operational efficiency, combine powerful performance, responsive hydraulic systems, fuel-saving technology, and operator-focused features.
There are three configurations: which are U30-6S canopy, U55-6S canopy, and the U55-6S cabin.
The models feature efficient hydraulic systems for smooth operations, Auto Idle technology to help reduce fuel consumption, and Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) to support operator safety.
“Together with their compact design, ease of operation, and maintenance-friendly features, these innovations help equipment owners work efficiently, minimize downtime, and maximize productivity across construction projects,” noted KPI.
With a presence in the Philippines dating back to 1965 and more than 100 agricultural dealer locations nationwide, KPI brings its established local experience and customer relationships into its construction equipment business.
Kato noted that the sector will remain the foundation of their business. However, through construction equipment, they are expanding their contribution to infrastructure, better living environments, and the sustainable development of the Philippines.
“These are two important areas of contribution, united by one continuing commitment to grow together with the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, Fritz Carlo Arota, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of KPI, shared: “Our experience in agriculture has taught us that customers need more than reliable machines. They need dealers who understand their businesses and dependable support throughout the life of their equipment.”
The U30-6S and U55-6S mini excavators are now available through KPI’s authorized construction equipment dealer partners.
KPI said it will work with its authorized construction equipment dealers to “strengthen product knowledge, parts availability, and after-sales capabilities, alongside financial partners offering equipment financing options.”
Arota added, “As we enter the construction equipment market, we are bringing together Kubota’s global expertise, our local experience, and our dealer and financial partners. Our goal is to help customers select the right equipment, operate it effectively, and maintain it with the appropriate parts and service support. This is how we intend to build lasting customer confidence.”
Kubota Philippines, Inc. (KPI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kubota Corporation. The local arm was established in 2011 to build on Kubota’s presence in the Philippines since 1965 and provides agricultural machinery, parts, and after-sales services through its authorized dealer network.
