It was still a strong campaign for the Filipina beauty queen.
On Friday, November 7, the grand coronation event of The Miss Globe 2026 happened in Phuket, Thailand.
Then, 52 participants all over the world competed for the chance of getting the title of the pageant, which was held in Asia for the first time.
Binibining Pilipinas-Globe 2026 Sasha Lacuna represented the Philippines in the said pageant and delivered strong results for the country.
In the final, she earned the Miss Social Media Award and headed straight to the Top 21 of the competition after earning the highest number of fan votes.
Earlier, Sasha also secured a spot in the Top 6 of Best in National Costume competition, Top 12 of the Head-to-Head Challenge, and the Top 25 of the Best in Talent competition.
Lacuna, who was running for the Philippines’ third crown at The Miss Globe, with the first two being won by Ann Colis (2015) and Maureen Montagne (2021), had her journey cut short as she finished in top 11.
However, she was still able to create special feat by extending the country’s semis placement to 12 consecutive editions.
In the end, Nguyen Thu Thao fo Vietnam was crowned Miss Globe 2026.
She effectively blocked host country Thailand’s goal of clinching a back-to-back win in the pageant, as their bet Suttida Iadpoo was named first runner-up.
Meanwhile, rounding out the top five are Maria Zheliaskova (Ukraine), who ended as the second runner-up, Sybèl Hoekman (The Netherlands) as third runner-up, and Pilar Macias (Argentina) as fourth runner-up.
