A possibility that delighted Filipino HIYILY.
On Saturday, October 31, Korean actor Hwang In-youp held his solo fan meeting entitled To You at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
During a talk segment, the actor, who is known for his roles in series like True Beauty and Dear X, shared a prospect that might bring him closer to his local fans.
“Gusto ko ring mag-try ng exclusive (project)… if it’s possible and if it’s approved by the Philippines,” he shared, as translated by an interpreter.
The 35-year-old actor then noted that while it has been awhile since he finished school, he joked that he might warm up to the possibility of playing a schoolboy role anew—one that he did on True Beauty and 18 Again.
“’Yung original school ko ay dito sa Pilipinas, ‘di ba? Since original school ko ay dito sa Pilipinas, parang magandang opportunity na I can do acting, or a series with Filipinos. Parang gusto ko yung story na we’re in the same room, same classroom, tapos may magandang mellow romance,” he quipped.
In Youp was referring to his long-term stay in the Philippines in the past, as he studied fashion design in a well-known university in the southern Philippine city of Davao, years before he rose to fame and became one of the prominent leading men in the world of Korean drama.
In Youp began his showbiz career in South Korea as model back in 2017, before transitioning to an actor in 2019.
Since then, he has starred in serials like Tale Of Nokdu, 18 Again, True Beauty, Why Her, Family By Choice, Dear X, and most recently, Dream To You.
He is set to star as a villain in the series Human X Gumiho, where he will reunite with his The Sound of Magic co-star Ji Chang Wook.
