Infrastructure that aims to cut travel times and improve traffic flow, among other beneifits.
During the opening of NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A in Valenzuela City, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced another proposal.
Worth PHP120 billion, a new road project is being planned by the MVP Group of Manny Pangilinan and San Miguel Corporation led by Ramon Ang, and it will link Balintawak in Quezon City and Bocaue, Bulacan.
Hanggang Bocaue ang aabutin,” Marcos said.
The move is said to have been made possible by President Marcos’ call for the two business groups to collaborate to expand the country’s road network, provide commuters with alternative routes, and improve travel conditions.
The President said he had asked both conglomerates to collaborate to expand the available routes for motorists and improve travel conditions once the project is completed.
President Marcos welcomed the investment and described it as good news for commuters, emphasizing that the elevated road would provide an alternative route alongside the existing highway.
Meanwhile, Section 1A of the 11.3-kilometer NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 project, which extends from Mindanao Avenue to C5/C.P. Garcia near Katipunan Avenue, was recently opened to the public and will remain toll-free until the end of the year.
The NLEX-C5 Northlink project is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project, with the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) serves as the government grantor, while NLEX Corporation, which is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), being the private concessionaire.
