Contrary to its initial announcement.
On Saturday, October 31, television signal observation page DTV Pilipinas shared a snapshot of the free-to-air network ALLTV of Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).
The station, which utilizes the very high frequency (VHF) channel 2 in Mega Manila, was seen continuing its transmission over the said analog television frequency, hours after its supposed permanent move to digital terrestrial television (DTT) on Friday, October 30.
In addition, as per Trendrod‘s own monitoring, ALLTV is also aggressively airing plugs produced by TV5/MediaQuest to inform viewers about the switch-off.
The date of October 30 was first announced by ALLTV, which is officially known on-air as ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, last September 1 and was supposed to put them ahead of other networks that remain broadcasting on the now-obsolete technology.
However, as it seems to appear, other television networks are going to maximize the remaining days of their analog signals—which the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) previously directed to be closed down for good by November 22, 2026, in line with Memorandum Circular No. 005-11-2025.
Thus, rumors have emerged that ALLTV has instead opted to join the rest of the broadcasters and has also pushed back their analog switch off date to the same date.
However, AMBS has yet to announce any new date regarding their analog switch-off plans.
According to a previous number provided by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), about 82% have already made the shift to digital TV in Mega Manila—with the remaining 18% or below to be assisted by the government in some form as the switch-off date looms.
Networks have also worked together to put up their respective analog switch off announcements in order to ensure more audiences will be able to be informed about the impending move.
For now, ALLTV remains on the air on analog VHF channel 2 and DTT channel 16.
