Bringing the show to more listeners in Mega Manila.
On Thursday, October 29, a deal was struck between Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Philippine Collective Media Corporation (PCMC) regarding the popular morning primetime news and discussion show Ted Failon at DJ Chacha.
The said program, which is anchored by seasoned journalist Ted Failon and radio disc jockey and news anchor DJ Chacha (also known by her real name Czarina Guevarra), is set to expand from its current home at True FM 105.9 to 92.3 FM Radio (FMR) Manila.
Beginning November 9 (Monday), listeners can now get their fix of the latest national headlines, music, discussion, and games on the program on both stations.
In a clip posted by FMR, DJ Chacha shared her excitement regarding the move.
“[It] feels so good to be home,” she said. “Kasi, kami ni Manong Ted, n’ong magsimula kami sa TV5, sa 92.3 talaga kami napapakinggan.”
From its launch in October 2020 to October 2024, Ted Failon and DJ Chacha was heard on what was then-known as Radyo5 92.3 News FM, which eventually rebranded to True FM.
However, following a sale agreement with PCMC, the news-and-talk station of NBC moved to 105.9 FM in November 2024, bringing the show and the entirety of its programming slate to the frequency owned by Bright Star Broadcasting Network.
“And, wala kaming masabi kung hindi, (we are) grateful. After six years, nasa radyo pa rin kami. So, kahit saan pa ‘yan, ang mahalaga, magbigay namin ang tamang balita at impormasyon, at on the side, entertainment,” she added.
Failon also said that there will be a transition period for listeners to be informed about the change.
“Meron pong transition ito para din po mas maganda rin ang pagkakaalam ng mga kababayan natin na ang aming programa ay mapapakinggan sa dalawang istasyon,” he said.
“Ang bottomline, ang magbebenepisyo po ay ang ating mga tagapakinig sa radyo.”
Aside from these platforms, Ted Failon at DJ Chacha can also be heard via the audio stream on the True FM website and seen on visual platforms such as on the True FM social media pages, One PH, RPTV (from 8:00 am to 10:00 am), as well as a 30-minute window on Frontline Sa Umaga on TV5 from 6:30 am to 7:00 am.
