This, as she expressed her frustrations with how the system is working.
In a post on her Threads account, actress-content creator Rica Peralejo shared her throughts with her followers regarding her own view regarding how the state of living in the Philippines has become.
According to her, “I have never felt the real urgency to leave the Philippines until now. I always entertained the thought but it never escalated to an urgency. Ngayon talaga ayoko na.”
The former teen star and morning show host noted that she is already making plans because of the “bastusan” (“disrespect”) has become very painful to her.
“I am so heartbroken for many of my kababayans na tapat at lumalaban ng patas pero hindi patas eh. Hindi talaga. Hindi na nga madali, hindi pa tapat,” she wrote.
Rica also underscored: “Hate is a strong word but I think I’m getting there.”
Without providing the context of her exact post, it appears that her frustration also started with the recent requirement to display a Registration Seal Badge by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, which many argued to be in violation of certain laws.
There, she also used the word “bastusan” to call out the directive.
While many have supported her with her plans, she revealed that she also saw other posts from users, which she said even pushes her to further “give up.”
“Hindi kasi gobyerno lang pala no… yung tao din. Kahit anong laban mo kung yung mismong taong bayan yung may ayaw aba eh bakit pa? Tas aawayin ka pa no? Kaloka. Kasukosuko,” she wrote.
In a separate post, she also shared: “O diba, magreklamo ka tungkol sa injustice ng gobyerno mong puno ng korap at ang ending ay ikaw pa ang masama.”
She also directly called out the people who “spent their energy to hate” on her, instead of of the system and doing something about it.
It also is something that reminded her that the country is where it is because of what kind of people are living in it.
“It doesn’t take much after all, para manakawan tayo. Kasi tingnan nyo naman ang standards natin. Taas sa artista eh no?” Rica added.
