Last Sunday, October 18, the 11th PPOP Music Awards was held at the Araneta Coliseum, which recognized different personalities.
Former Myx VJ AI Dela Cruz, who presented the PPOP Frontier Award, also imparted some words of wisdom for P-pop acts, encouraging them to persevere and do better to help elevate local music.
Speaking of the award she presented, it went to Chicser. “Abangan niyo, guys, kasi ‘di pa kumpleto ‘yung lineup. (Kaya) next time, full comeback (na)!” they teased.
Meanwhile, hailed as Music Video of the Year was Darama by Oona. As for the boy band AZTER, they took home the prize for Best Vocal Arrangement in a Song Recording for Kupido.
In the coveted Artist of the Year award, several P-pop groups were pitted against each other. Ultimately, the Nation’s Girl Group BINI was able to clinch the top prize.
According to the team’s representative, “The support we have been receiving from the industry and the Blooms all over the world really means so much to us. Thank you so much for being with us every step of the way.”
“Let’s continue bringing P-pop to world stages and bring them to greater heights! Because Pinoy talent deserves to be seen and heard… Mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino!” she added.
