On Friday, October 16, original Filipino music (OPM) band Cup of Joe announced that they, too, are submitting their own entry for consideration at the upcoming 2027 Grammy Awards.

They confirmed that they are sending Sandali for consideration in the Best Asian Pop Performance category.

“Mula sa mga awit na atin lang munang pinagsasaluhan, hanggang sa mga pangarap na unti-unti nating naaabot,” the band wrote in the caption of their announcement post.

They also thanked their fans, Joewahs, for being with them all throughout this journey.

“Maraming salamat, Joewahs, sa pakikinig at sa patuloy na pagsama sa amin. Ang bawat hakbang ay mas nagiging makabuluhan dahil kasama namin kayo,” they added.

Before Cup of Joe, other Filipino music acts have also confirmed in the past few days that they are submitting entries for consideration at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

Among those who have announced their bids are P-pop juggernauts BINI and SB19, OPM band Ben&Ben, as well as other local music acts such as Baby Dolls, Maymay Entrata, and Khimo Gumatay.

Cup of Joe — comprising Gian Bernardino, Rapha Ridao, Gabriel Fernandez, CJ Fernandez, and Xen Gareza — will be heading back to the Araneta Coliseum this December for their two-night Symphony concert.

Prior to this, their last major event, Sandali: Cup of Joe Fest, last May at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan—where they made history as the first local band to hold a solo show there.

Cup of Joe was formed in Baguio City in 2018, with the debut taking place a year later. The band gained following with the release of their extended play Patutunguhan, which carried the songs Tingin featuring Janine Teñoso, Tataya, and Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko.

in September 2024, a few months ahead of the Silakbo album’s release in early 2025, the single Multo was dropped.

That song propelled COJ to the top of the charts after reaching the number 1 spot in the respective national charts of music streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music.
