A decade since his last performance in the country.
On Wednesday, October 14, American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth is headlining his first show in the Philippines in 10 years.
The said concert, which happens at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, is part of the Asian leg of his Whatever’s Clever! world tour series.
Prior to this, he last held a concert in the Philippines in August 2016 as part of his Nine Track Mind tour.
Before heading to the Philippines, last October 11 (Sunday), Charlie performed to a massive crowd at the Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi, South Korea.
There, about 40,000 fans attended the one-night-only show, making it not only his biggest concert in the country to date, but also his first stadium show in his career.
He also made a surprise performance with Im Nayeon, a member of the K-pop group TWICE, during his set for his popular song We Don’t Talk Anymore—which originally featured Selena Gomez.
Aside from the Philippines and South Korea, also included in the Asian leg of the tour are Tokyo, Japan; Taoyuan, Taiwan; and Hong Kong.
Puth gained worldwide recognition in 2015 after his song, See You Again, was used as the official soundtrack of Fast and Furious 7.
He would later release hit afte hit, including Marvin Gaye (featuring Meghan Trainor), One Call Away, Attention, and Light Switch.
Last March, he released the tour’s namesake album, Whatever’s Clever!, which features the singles Changes, Beat Yourself Up, Home, and Sideways.
