The celebrity couple finally welcomed their son.
Last September 29, actress-model Rere Madrid and basketball star Kai Sotto officially announced to the world the birth of their first son.
In a short video clip uploaded onto Rere’s Instagram story, she captured the moment Kai was caressing their baby. In the text she overlayed, she said, “A blessing I will love, nurture, and protect with everything I have.”
Following the announcement, Rere’s elder brother and actor Ruru Madrid also made a visit to the hospital with his girlfriend-actress Bianca Umali.
In a post, he expressed his excitement as he officially becomes an uncle. “Tito Ruru na ako!” he wrote.
“Congratulations, Bunso at Bayaw, sa isang napakagandang biyayang ipinagkaloob sa inyo,” the Kapuso star told the couple before giving them messages individually.
“Re (Rere), sobrang proud ako sa’yo. Mommy ka na! Alam kong hindi naging madali ang lahat, pero look at you now. You did it, Bunso,” he said to her younger sister.
Meanwhile, for his brother-in-law, Ruru said: “Bayaw (Kai), alam ko rin na hindi madali para sa’yo na mapalayo kay Baby, pero ginagawa mo ito para sa kanila. Saludo ako sa’yo, Bayaw.“
The 29-year-old actor then revealed the name of the baby to be Atlas as he shared his message for the newborn.
“Nandito lang kami ni Tita Bianca para sa’yo, Baby Atlas. We’ll be here to watch you grow, support you, and love you every step of the way. Welcome to the world, Atlas. We love you!” he wrote.
It was last May 27 when Rere and Kai tied the knot during a garden wedding ceremony held in Cavite. Less than a month after that, on June 22, they announced their pregnancy.
Individually, they have also just completed their respective works, with Rere having just finished her role as Cami in Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, while Kai had also ended his stint in the Japan B. League.
