Heads up for motorists plying roads around the region.
In a post on his social media page, several Metro Manila mayors announced that the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) will once again be enforced in Metro Manila roads beginning Monday, October 5.
According to graphics he posted, the policy will be implemented under the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023.
Through which, a more uniform framework for traffic enforcement across the region is to be established.
“Simula October 5, 2026 muling ipapatupad ang No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP), para makatulong sa pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan at disiplina sa kalsada,” they said in the caption.
They likewise confirmed that the fines will also be standardized among cities covered by the NCAP, with payment to be made available online to allow motorists to settle their fines conveniently.
Back in July, the Metro political Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has integrated the said service in the eGovPH super app.
“Sa mas pinalawig na implementasyon ng NCAP, publiko ang panalo dahil patas, simple at epektibo ang mga proseso, simula sa pag-check ng violations hanggang sa pagbabayad nito,” the mayors added.
At present, it is not yet clear whether the NCAP will be implemented across the entire region.
Back in May 2025, the policy was minimally resumed after the Supreme Court partially lifted a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on the policy.
Included in the list of NCAP-covered roads are EDSA, C-5, Roxas Boulevard, Macapagal Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue, Quezon Avenue, and Commonwealth Avenue, Marcos Highway, among others.
Through NCAP, violators are being caught through digital assets such as CCTV cameras and other gadgets as part of measures to address traffic congestion and other issues related to driving.
