K-drama star Ahn Hyo-seop is set to return with another series, which features jis transformation as a chef for the first time.
Hailed as the “Rom-com King,” he is set to star in the brand new series entitled Final Table, where he will star alongside Hong Hwa-yeon and Chang Ryul.
According to the synopsis shared by the streaming platform Prime Video, which will stream the said program, it follows Korean chefs who gather from all over the world to compete in the fictional contest called The Table: K-Chef 2026, which is a contest to “crown the finest Korean chef feast of dazzling dishes and extraordinary personal stories.”
The lisg of contenders will be led by Kang Han, the character of Ahn Hyo-seop, who is a world-class talent who works behind the name “Chris K.”
He is described as one who has built his career at restaurants overseas while keeping his background shrouded in mystery.
“Following a certain incident, he becomes head chef at Famiglia and throws his hat into the ring for a cooking survival competition,” the intriguing character study furthered.
Meanwhile, Hong Hwa-yeon stars as Choi Song-yi, the only daughter of Choi Seung-hyo, the godfather of Western cuisine In Korea.
She is fighting to keep her late father’s failing restaurant Famiglia alive. And when she crosses paths with Kang Han, a fateful meeting could change everything.
Meanwhile, a star chef “who accepts nothing short of perfection” is Cha Woo-jin, portrayed by Chang Ryul, who is behind Korea’s finest contemporary restaurant. He built his name on precision and never settles for anything less.
And six years prior to the current events in the series, a chef known as Chris K. handed him the only defeat of his career and they will meet once again.
“They will push one another to the edge, plate after plate and somewhere between the rounds, the rivalry turns into something closer to care,” the streaming platform continued.
The series is written and directed by Kim Doh-hoon, who is behind Moon Embracing the Sun, Chimera, and Medical Top Team.
The series is produced by SLL, B.A. Entertainment and DZoongFilm and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on October 24 in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Prime Video.
