There is more to the story of Atoy and “Mga Anak ng Sinulid.”
On Tuesday, September 29, streaming platform Netflix Philippines dropped the big news regarding the top-rating GMA primetime action drama series The Master Cutter.
The program, which is top-billed by the Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, is getting a second season right after it ends its first book.
In the notice displayed on the show’s hub inside the platform, it was confirmed that the first episode of Season 2 will drop on October 11 (Sunday).
That is expected to be days ahead of the linear TV broadcast, with the premiere date to be confirmed in the coming days.
However, the first season is set to wrap up this Tuesday, October 13 on linear platforms, with the next chapter expected to follow suit.
The said show, which is under the direction of Dominic Zapata, marms the actor’s return to doing dramas after the top-rated murder-mystery series Royal Blood in 2023.
It is also notably the network’s second production to follow the streaming first model, where episodes will drop on Netflix three days ahead of their broadcast on free-to-air television via GMA.
Prior to this, the period-action drama Pulang Araw in 2024 was also under the said arrangement.
According to a brief logline shared by the streamer, The Master Cutter is about a former scout ranger who now lives a double life by working as a tailor by day and taking on dangerous bounty hunting jobs on the side.
In this series, Dantes is joined by Max Collins, whom he had previously worked with in the movie Firefly, and child star Sienna Stevens, whom he worked with in Royal Blood.
Aside from them, the cast also includes Rio Locsin, Al Tantay, Tonton Gutierrez, Joey Marquez, Paolo Contis, Ketchup Eusebio, Polo Ravales, Max Eigenmann, Charlie Fleming, and Prince Carlos. Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino were also part of this series.
