With the record smashing expectations of organizers.
On Tuesday, September 15, Primetrade Asia, the organizers behind the annual Manila International Book Fair, reported the total attendance figures for its five-day run this year.
The 2026 edition, which beared the theme “Get Lit: Reading in a New Light” and was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, saw 234,499 visitors throughout its run.
Aside from getting good deals for physical books from its 165 exhibitors across two floors of the venue, the event was truly a melting pot for many interests as it also hosted an impressive lineup of author talks, panel sessions, and creative workshops.
In their message, the organizers told, “To every single reader who walked through the SMX doors over the last five days, maraming salamat!”
“Thank you for braving the weather, the heavy traffic, and the long lines just to find your next great read and meet your favorite authors,” the MIBF organizers added.
They also said that the reading community’s passion is “unmatched” and took note of the feedback they earned from the public.
“We’ve been reading your comments and taking note of all your feedback. We know it got incredibly overwhelming, and we are already hard at work finding ways to make MIBF 2027 a better, smoother, and more comfortable experience for all of you,” they told.
In another post, they also confirmed that the next edition of the Manila International Book Fair is scheduled to take place from September 8 to 12, 2027, with the venue yet to be announced.
