They are the next members of the team to begin their respective mandatory service terms.
This week, the entire Caratland sent off DK and Mingyu, two members of the Korean boy band SEVENTEEN, as they set out to do their duty for their country as they are formally conscripted for South Korea’s mandatory military service
First to enter the camp is DK, who entered last Tuesday, September 8, while Mingyu started his service on Thursday, September 10.
While no physical events were held for a formal send-off by fans on-site, both stars used social media to give updates to CARATs before temporarily leaving their idol life to assume their duties as Korean citizens.
In a post on his Instagram account, DK gave fans a peek into his look before entering the camp, with the 29-year-old vocalist sporting a buzz cut.
In the caption of his post, where he attached several photos, he told in Korean: “I’ll be back safely and in good health. Hahaha, no hair. Carats, take my hearts… This is a great hairstyle for wearing a face mask.”
Meanwhile, Mingyu opted to do a short reel featuring a montage of never-before-seen photos from his past trips.
He wrote, “See ya. Thank you carats,” as he expressed gratitude fans for their support.
DK and Mingyu are the next two members to enter service this year, following Vernon, who started his mandatory military service last August 20. Together, they join other band members who are still fulfilling their duties—Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi.
After them, Seungkwan and Dino are set to simultaneously enter on October 26.
