On Thursday, September 10, GMA News officially announced the upcoming launch of a brand new verification-based program on the secondary Kapuso channel GTV.

Entitled Usap-Usapan: What We Know So Far, the program is rooted in the recently launched campaign of the Kapuso news organization called Team Totoo, which in turn builds upon the decades-long mantra of Serbisyong Totoo.

According to the official press release by the network, the show delivers the biggest and latest news developments every weeknight at 6:00 pm.

Alongside that, they promise to delve deeper into trending claims, viral posts, rumors, and breaking stories to the test through verification journalism, where they will investigate what is true, false, or unclear.

GMA News also confirmed that the 30-minute program will feature its roster of journalists and will be “conversational and easy to follow,” noting the inclusion of “bold, punchy, and snackable formats” tailored to the current media consumption habits of viewers.

Usap-Usapan: What We Know So Far will mark GMA’s return to producing a live companion show to the simulcast of the network’s flagship newscast, 24 Oras, on GTV.

From October 2021 to October 2024, the network had the newsmagazine program Dapat Alam Mo! with Kim Atienza, Patricia Tumulak, Emil Sumangil (who was later replaced by Susan Enriquez). The said program was also brought to the flagship channel in two separate occasions to fill a programming gap.

It was later canceled after three years due to low ratings and was replaced by the cooking-talk show Lutong Bahay and reruns of past GMA programs.

Moreover, it appears to be the Kapuso network’s direct answer to the afternoon newscasts TV Patrol Express on ABS-CBN platforms and Frontline Express on TV5, among other players.

Usap-Usapan: What We Know So Far airs every weeknight at 6:00 pm on GTV and GMA News’ social platforms.
