A special gift for fans as she has postponed the release of her full-length album to 2027.
On Thursday, September 10, Korean superstar IU unveiled her newest digital single entitled Dear My Crazy Soulmate.
The said track is accompanied by a space-themed music video featuring veteran actresses Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee, which has reached over 190,000 views as of this writing.
The release of this digital single comes more than a month after IU announced the postponement of her supposed domestic concert tour in South Korea and the release of her next full-length studio album.
IU explained, “[My] chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction symptoms have been worsening recently. I am managing and taking care of it in my own way, but the weather seems to be having some influence as well.”
The 33-year-old so said that her symptoms have always been “erratic” and shifts between good and bad. “But recently, they have persisted day and night for days at a time, and I have repeatedly found it difficult to regain my form while singing.”
Citing the advise of doctors, who told her to temporarily step back from demanding activities, had to postpone the planned concerts.
She also expressed apologies and her optimism to see her fans next year. “I will get treatment so that we can definitely start 2027 together. I will do my absolute best,” she told.
IU is known for her songs like Good Day, Palette, BBIBBI, Blueming, eight, Celebrity, and Lilac, among many others.
She has also made her mark in acting after starring in several hit Korean drama series like Dream High, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, My Mister, and Hotel del Luna.
