He has responded to words shared on social media after the now-deleted replies circulated online.

In a post on his account on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, September 9, actor and Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition alum Dustin Yu addressed sentiments about him on social media.

The said matter stemmed from the resurfacing of his old replies, which he made between 2020 and 2021—way before his participation in the reality show that aired in 2025.

There, the TV and movie personality was cheekily responding to posts made by adult content creators on the said social media platform, who are also known as “alters.”

These were brought up by some netizens, prompting many users to speculate about his sexuality and other matters.

Dustin, who is currently filming a project, told in his statement: “Nung una, I didn’t really mind cos I’m more focused on the good days, plus I’m very much happy with my life right now. But I decided to speak up for the sake of my loved ones, while making sure to do so with respect for the LGBT community.

According to him, he made such comments to a certain personality’s account five years ago as a “joke,” with the mere intention of simply interacting to people who were tagging him.

Wala akong ibang intention behind it,” he stressed.

The 25-year-old then said that he was not aware that the account has shifted to another person and their content, adding that this has since caused other people to use his old comment against him.

I know what I meant when I said it, and I won’t let someone twist an old interaction into something it was never meant to be. I’m sharing this simply to set the record straight,” told Yu.

He continued, “Moving forward, sana mas piliin na lang natin maging positive and kind. We may not always agree or understand each other, but I hope we can choose to be kinder instead of creating stories that can hurt someone.

Meanwhile, in the latter part of his message, he said to people who continue to drag him that he genuinely hopes they can find something else that will bring them happiness and make them smile.

Nakakalungkot lang isipin na kailangan pang sirain o saktan yung ibang tao para may mapagtawanan o maging masaya. I hope you find happiness that doesn’t have to come at someone else’s expense,” he concluded his message.

Dustin has been part of several projects on television and film such as Mano Po Legacy, Regal Studio Presents, the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Love You So Bad, and the GMA and ABS-CBN collaboration The Secrets of Hotel 88.
