With tourists able to avail deals through partnerships with various carriers.
Recently, Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) announced that it has teamed up with global online travel agency Trip.com to leverage the latter’s reach to encourage domestic and international outbound and inbound travel via Cebu.
2.5 million active subscribers of the platform will be able to take advantage of exclusive promotional fares from partner airlines and book exclusive deals for their ultimate Philippine island getaway.
Moreover, this collaboration is also part of the continuous bid to elevate Cebu as a premier global gateway.
This, the MCIA and Trip.com secured exclusive partnerships with major airline partners such as Philippine Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, China Airlines, Starlux Airlines, EVA Air, Scoot, Jetstar, Korean Air, and United Airlines.
“This partnership underscores our ongoing commitment to expanding global access to the beautiful destinations of the Philippines,” said Aboitiz InfraCapital Airports Chief Executive Officer Athanasios Titonis.
He added, “This strategic exchange with Trip.com maximizes our digital footprint across our key markets in a high-traffic platform. It perfectly aligns with our mandate to champion Cebu as a vibrant hub, ensuring we bring value to our passengers through different platforms for the routes that we develop.”
Through the platform, the passengers can search deals for Cebu, and other Aboitiz InfraCapital-operated airports in Bohol-Panglao and Laguindingan in Misamis Oriental. They will be able find exclusive network offers from these destinations and take advantage of exclusive vouchers for flights, hotels and attractions.
According to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), MCIA welcomed 6,467,538 passengers through its two terminals from January to June 2026—a 9.1% increase from the 5,926,929 passengers during the first six months of 2025.
The airport was also recently achieved Level 2 Airport Carbon Accreditation by the Airports Council International in Asia-Pacific and Middle East (ACI APAC & MID). This accreditation recognizes the Cebu’s main gateway’s completion of a verified greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and its successful implementation of effective carbon management strategies, which then helped in successfully reducing carbon intensity per traffic unit (passenger movement and cargo tonnage).
