In an article by Variety, which actress Liza Soberano shared on her social media account, she  confirmed that she has been selected to join the jury for the Golden Globes Impact Prize at the Venice Film Festival in Italy.

According to the report, this prize was founded by the Golden Globes and Artemis Rising Foundation with support from Think-Film Impact Production.

The aim of the honor is to recognize documentary feature film in the festival’s official selection – either in or out of competition, which “exemplifies the extraordinary power of documentary filmmaking to illuminate important social issues through compelling storytelling.”

In the caption of her post containing the screen cap of the article, Soberano told: “Honored to be joining the jury for the Golden Globes Impact Prize for Documentary at the Venice Film Festival.”

Grateful to be part of a celebration of powerful storytelling and the filmmakers who bring important stories to light,” she added.

Prior to this announcement, Liza, together with H.E.R., was recently in Manila as part of promotional activities for the animated movie Forgotten Island, where she gave voice to the lead character of Jo.

Also part of this film are Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Jenny Slate and Ronny Chieng, with the movie set to hit Philippine theaters this September 23.
