As the leading K-pop awards show gears up for its next edition later this year.
On August 27, the MAMA Awards officially opened the applications for its Super Fan program through the global K-POP content platform Mnet Plus.
This group will be composed of fans who will serve as official ambassadors for the rest of the global fans and will have a hand in selecting the nominees for fans’ choice categories.
The Super Fan was first introduced in 2024 to reflect diverse global K-pop fans’ voices, enhance fan voting process and encourage K-pop fan engagement with the awards show organizers recording approximately 650,000 applications in 2025..
The applications will be open for for the MAMA Awards Super Fan until September 6 (Korea time).
Meanwhile, this edition will also see MAMA Awards present a wide range of new on-site and online events, which, it told, are reflective of its “commitment to delivering a truly borderless experience and uniting fans around the world beyond the stage.“
As part of this expansion, the MAMA Fan Festa will be introduced for the first time, which will pair the awards ceremony with new on- and offline programs and special collaborations where fans can enjoy and experience MAMA Awards in their own way.

The 2026 MAMA Awards will take place over two days at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka, Japan on November 20 and 21, and will stream live worldwide via Mnet Plus.
The MAMA Awards was first launched in 1999 as Korea’s first music ceremony by CJ ENM’s music channel Mnet.
It was later awards rebranded as MAMA AWARDS in 2009, originally standing as an acronym for the Mnet Asian Music Awards, underscoring its commitment to go global.
Since then, the ceremony has been hosted across the world, including Macao, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan and the United States.
