BINI becomes first P-pop act to perform in Genius digital show ‘Open Mic’

On Thursday, August 27, P-pop group BINI officially made their debut on music platform Genius’ YouTube channel.

This, as the eight-member group comprising Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, performed their single A Parallel World in the Open Mic series.

This song is part of the official soundtrack of the upcoming DreamWorks Animation movie Forgotten Island, which draws heavy inspiration from Filipino culture.

The team also makes a new record with this performance as they become the first homegrown Filipino group to be featured in the said digital series.

The song was released last July 23 and the group has since performed it live at the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2026 in California, USA.

BINI is currently in the middle of mounting their Signals World Tour series, with the team doing the North American stops that include California, Hawaii, Nevada, Vancouver, B.C.; Calgary, Alberta; Edmonton, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Toronto, Ontario; and Brooklyn, New York.

Recently, alongside fellow P-pop group SB19, they also participated in the Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.

Meanwhile, Forgotten Island is set to be distributed by Universal Pictures and will hit theaters in September 2026.
