He is facing allegations of physical assault and forced abortion.
On Wednesday, August 19, Korean social networking platforms erupted as allegations thrown against up-and-coming actor Hong Min-gi came to light.
This, as a certain user, who is being referred to as “Ms. A,” introduced herself as his former girlfriend and alleged that the actor had been violent towards her in the past, such as when he threw a soju bottle, hit and pushed her, and even grabbed her by the neck, with a letter also being uploaded alongside that.
She also noted that Hong had made foul remarks toward fans and colleagues.
In response, Fable Company, the agency of the 24-year-old actor, who starred in serials like Love Your Enemy, Study Group, Trugger, and Doctor on the Edge issued a statement to deny these claims.
The company noted that the matter is of private nature, with Min-gi having expected that “Ms. A” will “refrain” from making any public statement.
But with the posts she made, the company told that they differ from what their side knows about the said matter.
According to them, the two started dating in April 2026. However, the actor soon ended the relationship after discovering that his partner was still in communication with her ex-boyfriend.
“Despite this, Ms. A continued to contact the actor, demanding that he meet her again. She repeatedly engaged in one-sided contact and approaches that the actor did not want—frequently coming to the actor’s home and even going as far as visiting the home of the actor’s family,” the company said in its statement, as translated by the Korean entertainment portal Soompi.
Fable Company also disclosed a recent incident when “Ms. A” came to the actor’s home, where she repeatedly pounded the door and rang the doorbell late at night.
They also accused the woman of “exploiting the fact that public evaluation and image are important to the actor and continuously pressured him by implying that she would disclose false information to third parties.“
It was when, they told, that she sent the certified letter to the actor that contain claims that are “not true.”
“Today, she went further by posting on social media not only the certified letter but also provocative and false allegations—such as abuse of his pet dog and deceiving fans through his relationships—thereby severely damaging the actor’s reputation,” the company added.
Thus, they are set to pursue legal actions against the woman, including a supposed violation of anti-stalking laws and defamatio.
“Our company will do its utmost, through objective materials and lawful procedures, to ensure that the facts are clearly established,” they said.
Fable also asked people tl refrain from making unfounded speculations about “unconfirmed” or “exaggerated matters.”
In a succeeding statement, Fable also directly challenged the “forced abortion” claims made by “Ms. A” in her additional posts, noting that she sent Hong an ultrasound photo with a message, despite not presenting such to him previously, nor did she ever show a pregnancy test.
“As the ultrasound photo in question appears different from those that typically confirm a pregnancy, our company has requested verification from obstetric and gynecological medical professionals and intends to submit this as evidence,” the company noted, who stressed that the actor did not make any statement to force her into one.
Meanwhile, on July 13, which was the day “Ms. A” claimed she underwent the abortion surgery, the company revealed that she suggested to the actor that they go cycling together.
“When the actor declined, Ms. A sent a video of herself cycling alone. We have secured and are keeping all records of this conversation and the video,” they added.
The company emphasized that due to this other allegation, the actor “once again suffered severe and irreparable damage to his reputation and image.”
Fable also said that they will no longer respond by repeatedly refuting what they called the other party’s “false claims” and will instead proceed with the filing of civil and criminal cases, before requesting to stop the circulation of these “unverified claims” about the actor.
