The actor-athlete also said that it will be a “tough journey” for him.
Last Sunday, August 16, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Viva One star Lance Carr participated as part of the streaming platform’s basketball squad in the first-ever Viva All Star Games.
However, the 25-year-old suffered an ACL injury in the middle of the game after a bad landing, prompting him to leave the court midway.
In a post on his Instagram account, he called this his “greatest fear.” “Every basketball player’s worst nightmare would probably be a Torn ACL,” he added.
But with that, he admitted that there are a lot of thoughts that come into his mind such as: “Will I ever play the same again? Will my passion for the sport that I loved since I was 4 years old change? Will I ever play again?”
Lance admitted that will be a tough journey, but he is prepared to do everything to get back on track and “be better than I once was.”
He also sent his apologies to his teammates, coaches, and bosses. “I’m truly sorry for letting you guys down. Sabay sabay tayong nag prepare and sabay sabay tayong nangarap na manalo sa kauna unahang Viva All Star Games. In a snap everything was taken away from us.“
Moreover, he also conveyed: “To all the fandoms, friends and family, I’m sorry for letting you guys down as well. I know yung iba bumyahe pa ng malayo para lang mapanood ako and yung teammates ko. Pasensya po talaga and I promise you guys babawi ako once I’m clear to play again.“
Nonetheless, he remains thankful to the people who sent their messages of concern for him and told, “Rest assured I’m on the positive side and just looking forward to recovering 🙂“
“I love this sport more than anything in the world. I’ll come back stronger,” Carr promised, before signing off using his moniker, Capteen-Ball Cutie ng Davao, for now.
