TWICE’s Chaeyoung establishes independent label following departure from JYP Entertainment

On Friday, August 14, rumors swirled across Korean forums regarding the status of the relationship of TWICE member Chaeyoung and rapper Zion.T.

In response to that, their respective labels jointly denied the speculations and said that these were “groundless” rumors.

After confirming with the artists themselves, we have verified that the two are still continuing their beautiful relationship with positive feelings toward each other,” representatives of both sides told, as translated by Soompi.

Noting how they will combat false information, the two artists were told to be taking “strong legal action” against the reporting and spreading of sensational content based on unverified facts.

It was in the regard that it was confirmed that Chaeyoung, who departed JYP Entertainment after 14 years with thr company, has formally established her independent label called LIL FANTASY.

The company shares its name with Lil Fantasy Vol. 1, which is the title of her debut studio album that was released in September 2025.

She also mentioned the name in her handwritten letter that was posted on social media to announce her exit from JYP Entertainment, where she also assured that she still remains part of the group.

I hope both Chaeyoung of TWICE and Chaeyoung in LIL FANTASY can continue to create music that brings meaning to you as well,” she wrote in one part of the message.

The 27-year-old singer-rapper also thanked in the same letter the people she have worked with in the company—including her fellow members in the group.

I want to deeply thank everyone at JYP and Team TWICE for believing in and supporting me over the past 14 years… And to my TWICE members, who are always my strength and biggest supporters thank you, and I love you beyond words,” she said.

Despite leaving the company, Chaeyoung assured that there will be no changes with TWICE, noting that everything she has received came from time as TWICE, which will always be her “roots.”

Chaeyoung debuted with TWICE in 2015 after the final line-up—which also includes Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun,  and Tzuyu—was determined through the survival-reality show Sixteen.

They went on to release popular singles starting with their debut single Like Ooh-ahh, followed by Cheer UpTTLIKEYHeartshaker, and Yes Or Yes, among many others.

The group last visited the country in October 2025 for the local stop of their This Is For concert tour at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Apart from Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon also announced her departure from JYP Entertainment last August 10 to join VARO Entertainment, which is primarily an actors’ agency that is also home to her sister Gong Seung Yeon.
