It is part of the airline’s growing network and will offer a new option for Filipinos based in Saudi Arabia and their families.
Last August 3, the growing flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Air, announced its move to introduce a brand new service between the Middle Eastern capital city and its home base, Riyadh, KSA (RUH) and Manila, Philippines (MNL).
As per its announcement, the Riyadh to Manila and the return Manila-Riyadh flights will operate daily (7x weekly).
The outbound flights will depart from King Khalid International Airport at 1:05 am (local time) and arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 3:55 pm (Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the return service will operate in the same frequency and will depart MNL at 5:25 pm (Philippine time) and arrive at RUH at 10:15 pm (local time).
The new route will be operated on Riyadh Air’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which wil have 290 seats and feature the airline’s latest cabin interiors and onboard experience.
Riyadh Air shared that the new daily service to Manila reflects the “expanding relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Philippines,” noting that travel between both sides are becoming increasingly driven by commercial partnerships, education, leisure and wellness tourism.
Moreover, it told that the route provides an “elevated travel option for the established Filipino community in Saudi Arabia, as well as business and leisure travelers connecting between both capitals.”
“As Saudi Arabia’s capital and commercial hub, Riyadh offers visitors from Manila direct access to modern attractions, cultural landmarks and a growing economic landscape, while positioning the city as a gateway to local, regional and key European destinations,” it added.
Riyadh Air’s direct service to the country is part of the growing list of routes it is mounting around Asia, with the airline having established links to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand; and Islamabad and Lahore, Pakistan.
